Sudarshan Suresh

Sudarshan Suresh is a lawyer turned writer and director, currently based between New York and Mumbai. He was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film for 2019 and previously received the Director’s Guild of America Student Filmmaker Award. A graduate of the Columbia University Film MFA program, his thesis film *Mizaru* was awarded the Katharina Otto Bernstein Production Grant and won Best Film at the Columbia University Film Festival. *Mizaru* had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in 2019 and received the inaugural IFP Short Film Award at the 2019 Gotham Awards in New York. The film is set to be distributed by Focus Features and JetBlue.

His earlier short films *Absent*, *The Rabbit*, and *Memories of the Sea* have screened at international film festivals including Palm Springs, Hamptons, Atlanta, New Orleans, Aspen, and Miami, and have won awards at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, London Indian Film Festival, Champs Elysees Film Festival, and Atlanta Film Festival, among others. They have also been selected as Vimeo Staff-Picked. He is currently in early development on his first feature film, *Mizaru*.

Sudarshan is also an accomplished editor and colorist, having worked on films that have screened at Sundance, Venice, and the New York Film Festival. He is represented by Alec Ring at Cinetic Media.
