Tami Erin

Tami Erin is an American actress, global traveler, entrepreneur, fashion designer, and humanitarian. She is best known for her role as Pippi Longstocking in the 1988 film *The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking*, produced by Columbia Pictures and released in 13 languages. The 36th anniversary of the film's worldwide release was marked in 2024. A new documentary film titled *I Am Pippi* is set for release in 2025 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the creation of the Pippi Longstocking book series. Erin began acting and modeling at age 8 with Elite Model Management, one of the world's leading modeling agencies. She quickly rose to become one of Elite Chicago's top child models, booking national and international campaigns. She has appeared on numerous television shows, including *The Today Show*, *Good Morning America*, *E! Entertainment*, and *Entertainment Tonight*, and has starred alongside Hollywood stars in films. Erin trained at several prestigious acting institutes, including the AFI/American Film Institute, American Conservatory Theater, and The Actor's Lab, where she studied with Jeff Corey, as well as with Molly McCarthy of Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio in New York City and Carolyne Barry for TV commercials. She auditioned for the role of Pippi Longstocking at age 11 and was selected from over 8,000 young actresses worldwide. She was cast for her dynamic talents in acting, singing, dancing, advanced gymnastics and tumbling, and horseback riding stunts. The film's director, Ken Annakin, described her as a perfect fit for the role, saying, "Tami radiates sunshine, when she smiles everyone is happy. She is Pippi Longstocking!" As an international actress, she has traveled to 16 countries and over 40 states in the U.S. Career highlights include attending the first Royal World Premiere in Tokyo as a guest of Princess Nori, granddaughter of Emperor Hirohito, and the second Royal World Premiere in Stockholm, Sweden, as a guest of King Karl and Queen Sylvia. Erin was appointed as a United Nations Ambassador for UNICEF and has spoken at World Children's Day in New York City to delegates from over 100 countries. She has also spoken internationally on behalf of the United Nations. Erin continues her humanitarian work as an ambassador for several charities focused on children, animals, and the performing arts community.
