Biography

Thomas W. Blackburn was an American author, screenwriter, and lyricist known for his contributions to Western novels, television screenplays, and song lyrics. He worked in the story department at Walt Disney's studio in the mid-1950s, where he contributed to the Davy Crockett series. Among his most notable works are the lyrics for "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" and "Farewell." He also composed lyrics for the Johnny Tremain series, including "Johnny Tremain" and "The Liberty Tree." His career spanned both writing and music, with a focus on historical and Western themes.
