Timothy John Berners-Lee, commonly known as TimBL, is an English computer scientist who is credited with inventing the World Wide Web, as well as HTML, the URL system, and HTTP. His work has significantly influenced global communication and information sharing. Berners-Lee has held academic roles at several notable institutions, including a professorial research fellowship at the University of Oxford and the position of professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
