Biography

Viju Khote was an Indian actor best known for his iconic roles in Hindi cinema. He gained widespread recognition for portraying the dacoit Kaalia in the 1975 film *Sholay*, delivering the memorable line, “Sardar, maine aapka namak khaya hai.” He also played the character Robert in the 1994 comedy *Andaz Apna Apna*, known for the line, “Ghalti se mistake hogaya.” Over a career spanning six decades, he appeared in more than 440 films in Hindi and Marathi cinema. On television, he was remembered for his role in the 1993 show *Zabaan Sambhalke*. Additionally, he contributed to Marathi theatre throughout his career.
