Biography
Vladimir Ivanovich Chestnokov was a Soviet film and theater actor and theater teacher, born in Saint Petersburg. A prominent figure in Soviet performing arts, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1960. Chestnokov received the Stalin Prize of the first degree in 1950 and the USSR State Prize in 1967 for his contributions to the arts. A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1941, he remained active in theater and film throughout his career. Chestnokov passed away in Leningrad in 1968.
