Biography

Yalitza Aparicio is a Mexican actress who achieved international acclaim for her portrayal of Cleo in Alfonso Cuarón's 2018 film *Roma*. Her performance earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, making her the first Indigenous Mexican woman to receive such a nomination. In 2019, she was named one of *Time* magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. That same year, she was appointed as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Indigenous Peoples, highlighting her advocacy for Indigenous communities.
