Biography
Zayn Malik, born Zain Javadd Malik, is an English singer known for his role as a member of the internationally successful boy band One Direction. He first gained attention by auditioning as a solo contestant on the 2010 season of the British music competition show *The X Factor*. Although he was initially eliminated, he was later paired with four other contestants to form One Direction, a group that became one of the best-selling boy bands in music history. In March 2015, Malik left the band to focus on a solo career and subsequently signed with RCA Records.
