A.L.Zh.I.R
Olga Pavlova, the wife of an aircraft designer and head of a Moscow garment factory, and Sofia Ter-Ashaturova, the wife of an opera house director and a prominent Soviet opera singer, meet in a prison car aboard a train. They are among those being sent to the Akmola camp for the wives of traitors to the Motherland, a place where representatives from various social strata are imprisoned. The characters must draw on their inner strength and endurance to survive the hardships they will face along the way and retain their humanity.
