A murder case stirs up danger in the underworld, setting off a chain of events that draws Cheung Sai-lun, a Chinese American with a passion for drama, back to Hong Kong in pursuit of a career in show business. While there, he meets policewoman Koo Yan-yee, who enlists him in a mission to pose as the orphaned heir of the Union Gang's Big Boss. With the help of a veteran impersonator named Ko Bun, Sai-lun assumes the identity of Big Boss and begins assisting gang leader So Tsz-shan and actress Chong Ming-lai. He also attracts the attention of You Ching-shui, a nightlife venue operator, and three other young women with no apparent connection to one another. As Sai-lun delves deeper into gangland, he and Ko Bun develop a close working relationship. Their efforts are safeguarded by the skilled fighter Luk Chau, who helps them navigate various crises. However, an unexpected and alarming plot remains hidden behind the scenes of the gang's activities.
