Onda Kokoro is an oncologist known to those around her as Dr. Onkoro, a nickname that reflects the confidence and familiarity with which they regard her. She married Takumi, a man she had known since her student days, and together they had a son. Their life was stable and fulfilling. However, three months ago, Takumi was involved in an accident and fell into a coma despite undergoing emergency surgery. While Kokoro continues to perform her duties professionally, she has struggled emotionally to come to terms with the situation. Her life takes a new turn when she meets Kajiyama Kaoru, a skilled gastroenterologist who has recently transferred to the hospital. Kaoru, with her competence and cheerful demeanor, offers both professional insight and emotional support. She quickly becomes a close friend to Kokoro, bringing a sense of warmth and hope to both her personal and professional life.
