Angel of Death

A young girl is found murdered near Opole. The presence of severe body mutilations and symbolic marks at the scene suggest the possibility of a ritualistic killing. The case is initially handled by Commissioner Agnieszka Polkowska. Given the extreme brutality of the crime and the likelihood that the perpetrator may be a serial killer, the Provincial Headquarters becomes involved. As a result, Polkowska is, to her frustration, reassigned from the investigation to Commissioner Tomasz Mrówiec. At the same time, Piotr Wolnicki, a professor of religious studies at Opole University, lives with his family in a comfortable home and continues his academic work. Early in the academic year, he singles out his modest and intelligent student, Ewa Banach, as a favorite. The girl is unaware that her professor harbors a dangerous secret.
