Asagaya Minoa, a first-year high school student with little interest in anime, recalls watching a show as a child but cannot remember its name. Her classmate Kamiigusa Arisu, an enthusiastic and knowledgeable anime otaku, offers to help her find it.

The Anime Club seeks new recruits, finding potential members who are as unusual as they are enthusiastic.

Faced with the threat of being disbanded, the Anime Club members visit Akihabara to relax and brainstorm ways to save their club.

Arisu provides Minoa with an overview of anime production and its business aspects. To demonstrate their club's value, the members are requested by the Drama Club to assist with costume design for an upcoming play, but Erika faces challenges in bringing her vision to life.

The anime club travels to Comiket during the summer, where they encounter Yang Beibei, a Chinese student learning Japanese, who shares her insights on the popularity of anime in China.

The anime club embarks on a trip to locations featured in various anime, with their current destination being Oorai. While Kai becomes infatuated with Miko, Minoa struggles to find her purpose in the club as she encounters a series of unfortunate events.

The anime club plans to showcase their progress at the upcoming culture festival, but after their proposal to screen full anime is rejected by the student council, they opt for creating anime shorts, only to discover the challenge is more difficult than anticipated.

Tsubaki suggests the struggling anime club prove its popularity by filling the auditorium for their presentation to avoid being disbanded, giving them two days to secure a full audience. Meanwhile, Minoa and Maya discover a personal secret about their father, though it turns out to be less significant than they initially thought.

The Anime Club finds success in helping others by recommending anime that align with their interests and challenges, but their good fortune begins to feel suspiciously convenient.

Minoa attempts to persuade the principal to revive the Anime Club but ends up locked in his office with him, forcing her friends to find a way to help her escape.

As reality begins to unravel in strange and unsettling ways, Minoa is the only one who seems to recognize that something is fundamentally wrong.

Minoa urgently seeks a solution to heal the world as the season reaches its final stages and time becomes increasingly limited.
