"Answer Me" is a popular song originally titled "Mütterlein," with German lyrics by Gerhard Winkler and Fred Rauch. The song was published on 19 April 1952 and later adapted into English by lyricist Carl Sigman, who released it under the title "Answer Me" in New York on 13 October 1953. The English version gained widespread popularity, with recordings by Frankie Laine and David Whitfield both reaching the top of the UK Singles Chart in 1953.
