After a car accident, Michael finds himself living in two separate realities. In one, his wife, Hannah, survives the crash; in the other, his son, Rex, is the one who lives. Uncertain which reality is the true one, Michael uses wristbands to distinguish between them. He consults two different therapists—Dr. Jonathan Lee in the "red reality" and Dr. Judith Evans in the "green reality." At work, Michael's unpredictable behavior causes tension with his team, who are unaware of his unusual ability to solve crimes by drawing on information from both realities.
