Che Chen is a 26-year-old assistant manager at an investment trust who has achieved early success in his career. Despite his accomplishments, he has always felt a sense of incompleteness due to not knowing his father. Raised by his single mother, Chen Mu, Che has long been haunted by the absence of a paternal figure in his life. His journey takes an unexpected turn when a freak accident transports him 27 years into the past, landing him in 1989—just a year before his birth. There, he encounters 22-year-old Zhen Zhen Ye, a naïve and trusting young woman who turns out to be his mother's best friend. As Che becomes aware that his actions in 1989 could alter the course of his mother’s life and, by extension, his own, he must grapple with the difficult decision of whether to intervene in the past to reshape his future.
