Beach Boys

After being kicked out of his girlfriend Fujiko's apartment, Hiromi heads toward the ocean. On his way, he meets Kaito, an elite employee of a major multinational trading company in Tokyo who is escaping work-related stress after losing a key client. The two end up at a quiet beachside B&B run by the aging surfer Masaru and his high-school-aged granddaughter Makoto. Hiromi immediately applies to work there for the summer, and Kaito is forced to join him after losing his wallet. The two share a room, with Hiromi making an effort to connect and Kaito initially resisting, unimpressed by Hiromi's carefree attitude. Over the course of the series, Kaito gradually becomes more comfortable in the peaceful rural town and begins to question whether he should abandon his pursuit of success in the city in favor of a more relaxed lifestyle. When Kaito returns to Tokyo to wrap up his work, Hiromi and Makoto try to convince him to come back, but when he returns to the B&B, his boss and girlfriend Sakura also arrive to find him.
