Netflix announced the six‑episode limited series Below will debut on Thursday, October 8. The show follows fisherman Calvin Penney, played by Josh Hartnett, as he confronts a mysterious sea creature threatening his Newfoundland hometown while dealing with the legacy of his father's death. The cast also includes Mackenzie Davis as marine researcher Fonda Howander, Charlie Heaton as Calvin's son Wade, and Ruby Stokes, Kaleb Horn, Rohan Campbell and Willow Kean portraying members of the Penney family. Created by Jesse McKeown, the series blends local myth, suspense and humor, and was filmed on location in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
