Sixteen-year-old Maika Sakuranomiya, who dreams of studying abroad, struggles to land a part-time job due to her intimidating appearance. When a foreigner named Dino unexpectedly offers her a position at his coffee shop, she is overjoyed, though the job comes with unexpected challenges.

Maika, assigned to play a "sadist character" for customer interactions, embraces the role with enthusiasm, much to the delight of regulars. Meanwhile, at Café Stile, a seasonal competition begins where staff members vie to add a new menu item, pitting Kaho, Akizuki, and the manager against Maika and Mafuyu.

Dino struggles with insomnia caused by his late-night anime habit, and bonds with Maika, who also enjoys international animation. Through conversation, Maika reveals personal stories about her family and aspirations to study abroad. Seeking to grow closer to her, Dino invites her on a date.

Café Stile hires a new waitress, Miu Amano, who is assigned to portray a "big sister" persona. Miu quickly impresses the staff with her natural ability to embody the role, though she hides a surprising secret. Maika tries to emulate Miu's client-interaction skills, but her attempts prove challenging.

At Café Stile, the staff participates in Pony Tail Day, but Kaho's decision to undo Maika's braids reveals an unexpected secret. Meanwhile, Akizuki and Kaho face troubling consequences after becoming overly absorbed in a video game. When Maika falls ill and takes time off, the team visits her at home, where they meet her family.

The Café Stile staff gathers for a relaxed get-together by the riverbank, where Maika's enthusiasm contrasts with the more reserved attitudes of Kaho, Akizuki, and Miu. As they prepare for a barbecue, an unexpected ingredient brought by Maika surprises the group. Dino and Maika consider making plans to visit the beach together.

Dino transforms Café Stile into a jungle-themed café after noticing the staff's sunburns from a beach outing. Mafuyu's unique cosplay for the event is well-received, while Kaho and Akizuki get into an accident involving the new plant decorations. The next day, Dino asks Maika to help him buy strawberries he had forgotten to order.

Café Stile is experiencing a busy period but faces a staffing shortage, prompting them to post job advertisements. A young applicant quickly comes in for an interview, impressing most of the staff with her boyish manner of speaking, though Dino remains skeptical.

Dino spends a perfect day at the park with Maika and Owner, the dog, while Owner grows fond of another canine. Meanwhile, Kaho is upset after accidentally deleting data from one of her favorite video games, and Akizuki attempts to comfort her, though his efforts are awkward and poorly timed.

During a ski trip, Dino attempts to confess his feelings to Maika, but is interrupted by her unexpectedly appearing from the bath. The next day, Maika makes a surprising and shocking confession to Kaho, Miu, and Mafuyu.
