*Blood Ties* is a Canadian television series based on the *Blood* book series by Tanya Huff. Created by Peter Mohan, the show is set in Toronto, Canada, and features a premise similar to the earlier Toronto-based series *Forever Knight*, in which a vampire works with the police to solve crimes. The series premiered in the United States on March 11, 2007, on Lifetime Television, and later that fall aired on Citytv and Space in Canada. In May 2008, Lifetime announced it would not renew the series for a second season.
