Button Moon

Button Moon is a quirky, popular children's television programme that aired in the United Kingdom in the 1980s on the ITV Network. Produced by Thames Television, each ten-minute episode features the adventures of Mr. Spoon, who travels to Button Moon in his homemade rocket-ship. All the characters and many of the props in the show are based on kitchen utensils. On Button Moon, which is described as hanging in the "blanket sky," Mr. Spoon and his companions have an adventure and use his telescope to observe others, such as the Hare and the Tortoise, before returning to their home on "Junk Planet." The series also includes Mr. Spoon's wife, Mrs. Spoon, their daughter, Tina Tea-Spoon, and her friend, Eggbert. The series concluded in 1988 after 91 episodes.
