Hank's efforts to reconnect with Karen take an unexpected turn. Concurrently, he is offered a job by the creator of the *Santa Monica Cop* television series, and a student journalist approaches him for an interview as part of a college assignment.

On his first day, Hank faces challenges adjusting to his new coworkers in the writer's room and experiences a surprise during a visit to Levon's apartment. Meanwhile, Charlie meets the new assistant to their boss, and Karen encounters an unexpected development.
