Comedy

Casseta & Planeta is a Brazilian comedy group known for their satirical television show *Casseta & Planeta Urgente*, which is broadcast by Rede Globo. The show's humor often targets religious or ethical groups, as well as minorities. The group established a company named Toviassu Produções Artísticas, an acronym derived from the phrase "Todo viado é surdo" – "Every gay is deaf," a reference to a well-known Brazilian practical joke. Each of the seven members has a defined role within the company. They present their TV show on Rede Globo, maintain a website, and produce books and other materials, including the publication "Machobol." The group originally began as two separate entities: a magazine called *Casseta Popular* and a humor newspaper named *O Planeta Diário*. The two teams merged and were subsequently hired by Rede Globo to serve as writers for the network's comedy programs, beginning with *TV Pirata* in 1988. A few years later, they launched their own show.
