As the country approaches New Year's Eve, BIA agent Lazar Stanojevic's routine operation to infiltrate a German agent turns complicated when a prominent Serbian politician is assassinated before his eyes. Matters escalate when the BIA's Deputy Director is killed by his own bodyguard, prompting the agency to track the bodyguard to Kosovo for a high-stakes exchange involving an Albanian criminal with a unique sense of honor.

Following a high-profile rescue mission in Kosovo, Karadzic's killer is transported to Serbia, where BIA Director Milojevic takes personal charge of his punishment, reinforcing the agency's authority while sowing internal doubt. Meanwhile, Lazar is tasked with using his network to investigate the murder of Radmilovic, as the BIA questions the official account provided by police and Interpol.

Lazar's international contacts help uncover a key lead in the Radmilovic case, prompting Milojevic to send him to investigate a link between U.S. agencies and the death of a controversial politician. His inquiry leads him to Ayatollah, a mysterious figure from the Trump administration, whose power becomes evident from their first meeting. With the help of his informant Maja, Lazar tries to get closer to Ayatollah, but their efforts soon place them in grave danger.

Ana suspects Lazar of an affair with his informer, Milica, after discovering a personal dedication in a book, prompting her to investigate. Meanwhile, Lazar is distracted by professional turmoil, including a dangerous new mission to monitor Slavko, a key figure in the Ayatollah's operations in Serbia. The BIA also faces a high-stakes request from American intelligence to assist in tracking an Islamic network in Sanjak.

Lazar, facing possible suspension after a failed mission to infiltrate the Sanjak Islamists, continues his assignment by going undercover and approaching Hamed, a mysterious jeweler with a taste for extreme pleasures and a sharp negotiating style. Through an underground contact, Lazar engages with Hamed, unaware of the true nature of the man he is dealing with.

Lazar, with help from Hamed, tracks down Faisal, a Syrian translator and de facto courier for an Islamic terrorist group who also works with a U.S.-funded NGO. After following Faisal to Belgrade, Lazar teams up with Colonel Slavko, a former warlord and longtime adversary, to raid a refugee camp and detain radicalized migrants. Meanwhile, Lazar spends time preparing for Easter with his family.

Lazar assures Ana of a quiet Easter together, but behind the scenes, the BIA and CIA manipulate the Serbian Homeland Alliance Party's election. Lazar, now under the direction of his new superior Bakrač, and Slavko each manage the operation from their respective homes. The outcome hinges on Smiljan Vučetić, a seasoned party ideologist, who unexpectedly resists pressure from both agencies, leading the intelligence groups to realize a far more significant event is about to unfold.

A terrorist attack in Munich causes turmoil within the BIA, as Western intelligence agencies demand full cooperation. Amid growing tensions and suspicions of Russian infiltration of the CIA, the U.S. recalls its agents from Belgrade and demands the extradition of Hamed, which Lazar refuses, concealing him in a Serbian prison. Lazar raises the alert level, convinced that some Islamists thought to have been transferred to Slavko remain at large in Serbia.

The BIA discovers that their key German opponent, Dietrich, has returned to Serbia under the cover of Russian connections, though they are unaware of his true objective to supply two Islamist figures. Meanwhile, Lazar, who has been raising concerns about these individuals, exposes sensitive information to the press, prompting his superior, Milojevic, to retaliate by forcing him into retirement and taking actions to dismantle Lazar's personal life.

Lazar, betrayed by Ana and abandoned by the Service, turns to the only person who remains loyal to him as Dietrich is critically injured and an Islamist fugitive threatens to carry out a major attack in Belgrade. The next day, Lazar learns that a deadly plot targeting a high-profile Children's Fair is in motion, with his own son set to attend, forcing him to confront an enemy he cannot face alone.

Lazar seeks Ana's assistance to stop a planned terrorist attack at the Children's Fair, while Milojevic plots to have him killed. With Maja as his only source of refuge, Lazar faces a reckoning between those he has wronged and those who still owe him.
