Tarō "Gatarō" Obika is a single father who, after his wife passed away from an illness, has raised his only daughter, Sakura, alone. His deep love for her leads him to make an unusual decision when she is about to start university. Sakura, who has attended an all-girls school her entire life, is about to begin at a coeducational institution, and Gatarō becomes increasingly anxious. To cope, he enrolls at the same university and in the same department as his daughter, setting off a series of events that upend their lives. As he immerses himself in the world of university life, the 40-year-old father finds himself rediscovering the joys of youth, often enjoying the experience more than his daughter and her peers.
