Devilman
*Devilman* follows Akira Fudo, a shy and timid teenager who goes mountain climbing in the Himalayas with his father. During the expedition, both father and son are killed in a tragic accident. Akira's body is discovered and possessed by the demon soldier Devilman, who uses his new human form as a disguise to carry out his mission of causing chaos on Earth in preparation for a demonic invasion. Before he can begin his mission in earnest, Devilman meets Akira's childhood friend Miki Makimura and quickly falls in love with her. Determined to protect Miki and humanity, Devilman begins battling against his fellow demons. The leader of the Demon Tribe, Zennon, becomes enraged by Devilman's betrayal and quickly sends his former comrades to destroy him. The other demons soon discover that Miki is precious to Devilman, forcing him to defend both her and himself. The story explores whether the power of love can triumph over the forces of true evil.
