On May 1, 1945 in Berlin, as the Red Army raises the Soviet flag over the Reichskanzlei, a group of Nazi officers performs a ritual. To them, the city's destruction is a perfect ritual sacrifice meant to summon the Order of the 13 Lances, a group of supermen destined to bring about the world's destruction. Years later, it remains unknown whether the officers succeeded or if they survived. Few are aware of their existence, and those who were once knowledgeable have largely died as the decades passed. In the present day, December in Suwahara City, Ren Fujii spends his days at the hospital. Every night he experiences the same dream: a guillotine, murderers who hunt people, and black-clothed knights who pursue the murderers. He longs to return to a normal life, but he continues to hear his friend Shirō's words: "Everyone who remains in this city eventually loses their minds."
