    Tai and Izzy enter a pyramid to rescue Sora, who is being targeted by Datamon for a cloning scheme to harness her Crest and Biyomon for revenge against Etemon. During the battle, Datamon activates the Dark Network, which fuses with Etemon and enhances his power, but Tai's Crest enables Greymon to Digivolve into MetalGreymon. After Etemon is defeated, he is swallowed by a portal, and Tai and Koromon are transported to Tokyo.

  21. 1.21Home Away from HomeAug 1, 1999Rate

    Tai and Koromon return home to find that little time has passed in the Real World and meet Tai's younger sister, Kari. Tai receives a warning from Izzy not to return to the Digital World and learns that Digimon are appearing in the Real World. Determined to help, Tai and Koromon prepare to go back, with Koromon Digivolving to Agumon to fight an Ogremon before a portal opens, transporting them back to the Digital World.

Together, they defeat Myotismon, but a lingering fog remains over Odaiba.

  38. 1.38ProphecyNov 28, 1999Rate

    Myotismon transforms into a more powerful form, VenomMyotismon, by consuming his Digimon army and moves toward the human world. Izzy, remembering a prophecy from Gennai, realizes that Angemon and Angewomon must attack Tai and Matt to trigger a miracle. Through this sacrifice, Agumon and Gabumon are able to Warp Digivolve into WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon.

  39. 1.39The Battle for EarthDec 5, 1999Rate

    WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon, with assistance from the team and their Digivices, successfully defeat VenomMyotismon. Soon after, they are called back to the Digital World, which faces a new threat.

Just as the situation worsens, Pixiemon arrives and makes the ultimate sacrifice to help the group escape.

    The children escape from Scorpiomon, a minion of MetalSeadramon, but their attempt to flee by sea is quickly thwarted when they encounter MetalSeadramon himself.

    As the children face near defeat at the hands of MetalSeadramon, Whamon arrives to save them, leading them to escape underwater. But MetalSeadramon pursues them, initiating an intense battle.

    Whamon sacrifices himself to help WarGreymon defeat MetalSeadramon. The DigiDestined then travel to Puppetmon's forest, where he divides the group, leading Matt to grow overprotective of T.K. Puppetmon forces T.K. into a deadly game of hide-and-seek, but T.K. outsmarts him by sabotaging his control room, allowing the others to regroup and defeat Kiwimon, leaving Matt feeling discouraged that T.K. escaped without his help.

    Puppetmon sends Garbagemon to attack the DigiDestined, but Matt withdraws and encounters Cherrymon, who manipulates him into believing Tai is the cause of his insecurities. Returning to the group, Matt challenges Tai to a fight, while Cherrymon is killed by Puppetmon after cautioning him about the DigiDestined's hidden strength.

    Tensions escalate when Matt and Tai argue with their Digimon, leading to a physical confrontation. Kari is mysteriously possessed by an entity that reveals the reason behind the DigiDestined's selection. As Matt and Mimi leave the group—Matt out of uncertainty and Mimi out of hurt—the remaining DigiDestined press on in their mission against the Dark Masters.

    Joe and Mimi encounter and aid an injured Ogremon, while Etemon transforms into MetalEtemon to seek revenge. At the same time, Tai and his team, assisted by two of Puppetmon's playmates, enter his mansion and use his own cannon against him.

    SaberLemon rescues Joe and Mimi, but they are soon confronted again by MetalEtemon, whom they defeat with combined efforts, though SaberLemon sacrifices his life to protect Mimi. Meanwhile, Puppetmon is overcome by the DigiDestined and ultimately destroyed by Matt and MetalGarurumon. Inspired by the losses and victories, Mimi renews her determination to fight, and she and Joe set out to find more allies as Tai and his team prepare to battle the remaining Dark Masters.

    Kari becomes seriously ill, causing Tai to panic as he tries desperately to assist her. Meanwhile, Machinedramon attacks a mechanical city he has taken over, leading to the group being split apart.

    The DigiDestined are separated in the sewers and must regroup while fending off enemies.

    Piedmon engages WarGreymon in battle, but the Digimon is unable to defeat him alone. Meanwhile, Matt and Sora each confront their inner struggles in dark caves, leading to personal growth and reconciliation with Tai. With most of the DigiDestined reunited, WarGreymon is joined by MetalGarurumon in preparation for a final confrontation with Piedmon.

    Piedmon transforms the DigiDestined and their Digimon into keychain dolls, leaving only T.K. and Kari. T.K. draws strength by imagining Matt's guidance, activates his Crest, and Angemon Digivolves into MagnaAngemon to rescue the others. With Mimi rejoining the group, they defeat Piedmon, but their victory is short-lived as Gennai sends an email revealing a greater threat behind the Digital World's destruction.

Veemon is able to Armor Digivolve into Flamedramon, helping the group defeat an enslaved Monochromon.

    Ken has a dream in which he reflects on his initial entry into the Digital World and his growing resentment toward his deceased older brother, Sam. Motivated by a promise to redeem himself, he returns to the Digital World and is reunited with Wormmon in its earlier form, Leafmon, in Primary Village.

    As the Digimon Emperor's base faces imminent explosion, the DigiDestined attempt to manage the situation, only to encounter a mysterious woman constructing Okuwamon using ten Control Spires. Ken arrives to assist but insists on handling the crisis alone as penance, prompting Davis to stand his ground. Davis' assertion of loyalty leads to ExVeemon and Stingmon DNA Digivolving into Paildramon.

    Paildramon confronts Okuwamon as the DigiDestined infiltrate Ken's base, but Ken's attempt to use the Crest of Kindness fails to stop the battle.
