Set in a near-future Manhattan, now a demilitarized zone (DMZ) following a devastating civil war, the film follows Alma Ortega, a determined medic, as she embarks on a perilous quest to locate her son, who was lost during the evacuation of New York City at the start of the conflict. Her journey through the ruined city is obstructed by gangs, militias, demagogues, and warlords, among them Parco Delgado, the charismatic and lethal leader of one of the DMZ's most powerful gangs.
