Dragon Ball

Bulma's quest to locate six additional Dragon Balls takes her to a secluded valley, where she encounters Son Goku, who already possesses one of the orbs. Their initial interactions are tense, but after Goku saves Bulma from danger, they form an alliance to find the remaining five Dragon Balls. However, their mission is complicated by the presence of an opposing force—Pilaf—who is also seeking the powerful artifacts.

Unaware of their location, Bulma and Goku set up camp near Ryugadani, a mysterious and ominous area where one of the Dragon Balls is concealed. Pilaf sends his henchmen to retrieve the ball, but they soon cross paths with Goku and encounter a group of ferocious wolves. The outcome of this clash remains uncertain.

As a token of appreciation, the Turtle Hermit gives Goku a magical flying cloud named Kinto'un, which can only be ridden by someone pure of heart. He also presents Bulma with an orange bauble, a stone he had found on the beach and worn around his neck, which appears to be of little value. The bauble is actually a Dragon Ball. Unfortunately for the group, Pilaf and his companions, Mai and Shu, are also seeking the same Dragon Ball, and they soon learn that Bulma now possesses it.

Goku and Bulma travel to a village where the fifth Dragon Ball is hidden. Goku is wrongly identified as Oolong, a shape-shifting monster that has been attacking the area, and is suddenly attacked by one of the villagers. Bulma negotiates with the villagers, promising to deal with Oolong in exchange for the Six-Star Ball in their possession. Goku disguises himself as a village girl, and it is revealed that the captured creature is actually a piglet. Bulma and Goku successfully retrieve the Six-Star Ball and, with Oolong now allied to them, continue their journey to find the remaining Dragon Balls.

Goku and the others head toward Mt. Frypan, but when Bulma accidentally drops her capsules into a river, they are forced to cross a desert on foot. Tired and drained, Bulma stops to rest. While she is resting, the desert bandit Yamcha appears and attempts to take Oolong’s capsules. Goku confronts Yamcha in battle, but he is at a disadvantage due to his empty stomach. Just as the situation becomes critical, Bulma wakes up, and Yamcha, who is uncomfortable being around women, flees the scene with a few sharp remarks.

Yamcha launches a nighttime attack in an attempt to steal Oolong's capsules. Upon assessing the condition of their opponents, he discovers information about the Dragon Balls. Determined to obtain them, Yamcha and Pu’er attempt to steal Goku and the others' Dragon Balls through various means, but they are unsuccessful. As a result, they devise a new plan: to wait until Goku and the others collect all seven Dragon Balls and then attempt to steal them. Unaware of this scheme, Goku and his companions head toward Mt. Frypan in search of the sixth Dragon Ball.

Upon arriving at Mt. Frypan, Goku and the others find themselves in trouble when they are spotted by Gyumao, who is guarding his castle. Gyumao's demeanor shifts when he learns that Goku and his companions know Muten Roshi. To put out the fire on Mt. Frypan, Gyumao asks Goku to accompany his daughter Chi-Chi and retrieve Muten Roshi's Basho Fan. Goku locates Chi-Chi, who is able to ride Kinto'un, but he loses his power when she grabs his tail. Observing this, Yamcha realizes Goku's vulnerability.

After discarding the Basho Fan, Muten Roshi travels to Mt. Frypan to extinguish its flames himself. Using his powerful Kamehameha technique, he successfully puts out the fire. Goku and the others retrieve the Dragon Ball and prepare to continue their search for the final one. However, Bulma is detained by Muten Roshi, as she had promised him the right to fondle her breasts in exchange for his help. She avoids the situation by asking Oolong to transform into her.

Goku and the others stop at a gas station to refill their vehicle. The townspeople are frightened by Bulma, who is wearing rabbit ears, though they don't understand why. Soon after, a group of outlaws calling themselves the Rabbit Gang arrive. Their leader, Carrotizor, possesses the ability to transform anyone who touches his hand into a carrot. Bulma is turned into a carrot after making contact with him. Unable to stand by, Yamcha rescues Bulma. Goku and the others then defeat the Rabbit Gang and continue their journey in search of the Dragon Balls.

Goku and the others are close to collecting the final Dragon Ball, but their progress is interrupted when Pilaf and his henchmen steal their collected orbs, intending to use them to take over the world. Yamcha, still hoping to have his wish granted by Shen Long, joins Bulma and the others in their effort to retrieve the Dragon Balls. To recover them, Goku and his allies launch an assault on Pilaf's secret base. However, they fall into a cleverly designed trap set by Pilaf, putting Goku's Four-Star Ball at risk.

After being put to sleep by sleeping gas, Goku and the others have the Four-Star Ball stolen from them. Pilaf finally has all seven Dragon Balls and attempts to call forth Shen Long. In order to stop Pilaf's scheme, Goku uses the Kamehameha to open a hole in the wall of the room they are imprisoned in. As Pu’er and Oolong transform into bats and head out the hole to take back the Dragon Balls, Shen Long is finally summoned. Will the world become Pilaf’s?

Shen Long finally appears. Pilaf attempts to make his wish, which is to rule the world. However, because Oolong made his wish—asking for "a girl’s panties"—a moment earlier, Pilaf's wish is not granted. With Oolong's wish fulfilled, Shen Long returns to the Dragon Balls, causing them to scatter to the four winds. Enraged by this turn of events, Pilaf imprisons Goku and the others in a room lined with fortified glass and iron plates, intending to kill them using the sun's intense heat. But what happens next remains to be seen.

Goku and the others are captured once again by Pilaf. That night, Goku gazes at the full moon, which triggers a transformation into an Oozaru, causing him to go wild. He destroys the prison, allowing Yamcha and the others to escape. However, Goku, now in a state of mindless rage, continues to rampage. Yamcha attempts to stop him by severing Goku's tail, which is the source of his vulnerability. Goku eventually regains his senses and returns to normal. After making a promise to reunite, the Dragon Team parts ways.

After collecting all the Dragon Balls, Goku travels to the Turtle Hermit’s place to receive training. However, to become the hermit’s pupil, Goku must bring a "pichi-pichi gal" as a fee. At the same time, a boy named Kuririn arrives from across the sea, also seeking to become the Turtle Hermit’s pupil, just like Goku. To gain acceptance, Kuririn presents a large stash of porn magazines that he brought with him. Whether he will successfully become a pupil remains to be seen.

Goku and Kuririn embark on a journey to find a pichi-pichi gal, a requirement for becoming a pupil of the Turtle Hermit. Along the way, they rescue Lunch, a girl being chased by the police, and take her to the Turtle Hermit's location. After successfully passing the test, Goku and Kuririn are officially accepted as the Turtle Hermit's students. However, it soon becomes apparent that Lunch is an unusual girl with two distinct personalities, shifting between violent and peaceful behavior every time she sneezes.

After moving to a large island, the Turtle Hermit begins training Goku and Kuririn. To assess their abilities, he first times how fast they can run 100 meters. Impressed by their potential, he gives them some training before dinner. As a challenging test, he throws a stone marked with a "turtle" into the jungle and instructs them to find it. The one who fails to locate it will miss out on dinner. Goku and Kuririn take the trial seriously, and in the end, the clever Kuririn wins the contest.

Goku and Kuririn begin their basic training with an unusual task: morning milk delivery. As part of this exercise, they carry milk boxes while performing maneuvers such as skipping and zigzagging through rows of trees. Their route includes climbing stone stairs that ascend high into the air, crossing a valley via a large tree, traversing a desert of quicksand and a fast-moving river while maintaining balance, and even evading dinosaurs. This rigorous training goes beyond standard expectations, offering a uniquely challenging experience.

After completing their early morning training, they proceed with additional morning exercises aimed at strengthening their arms and legs, which involves plowing a field with their bare hands. Following breakfast, they engage in study sessions. After lunch, they take a nap until 1:30 PM. In the afternoon, they assist with construction work, participating in physically demanding training that earns them a part-time job salary. Their regimen includes challenging exercises to sharpen their reflexes, such as swimming ten laps around a lake while being pursued by sharks and evading attacks from bees, concluding a rigorous day of training.

Goku and Kuririn continue their training by wearing 40 kg shells on their back. The two are aiming for the Tenkaichi Budokai, which opens in a month. The day before the tournament, the Turtle Hermit takes them to the island where it will be held. At the tournament registration area, Goku reunites with Yamcha, Bulma, Oolong, and Pu’er. Goku is delighted when he learns that Yamcha is also participating. The next day, the Tenkaichi Budokai is at last decided.

The Tenkaichi Budokai is held once every five years. A total of eight people are selected to participate in the tournament's main event. The preliminary matches to determine these eight competitors are divided into four blocks. Goku and Krillin demonstrate the results of their rigorous training under the Turtle Hermit. Defeating a veteran opponent, Goku earns his place in the main event. Additionally, Yamcha performs well and secures his spot in the Tenkaichi Budokai main event.

In the first round of the Tenkaichi Budokai main event, Kuririn faces off against Bacterian, a powerful opponent who wields filth as his weapon. Bacterian incapacitates his foes with an overwhelming foul smell, using attacks such as bad breath and noxious farts to assault Kuririn. Overwhelmed, Kuririn is eventually knocked down. Just as he succumbs to the stench, Goku snaps him out of the nightmare by telling him, “You don’t have a nose!” Rejuvenated, Kuririn launches a fierce counterattack and defeats Bacterian in the first round.

In the second match, Yamcha faces Jackie Chun. The enigmatic elder, Jackie Chun, counters Yamcha's swift attacks and even breaks through his special technique, the Roga fufu-ken (Wolf Fang Gale Fist). Jackie Chun secures victory by generating a powerful gust with a single swing of his left hand, sending Yamcha out of bounds. The third match sees the serious Namu targeted by Ran-Fan's seductive tactics. However, Namu overcomes the distraction and wins decisively with a single strike.

In the fourth match, Goku faces the formidable opponent Giran. After enduring a relentless series of unfair attacks, Goku is ensnared in the rubbery Guru-Guru Gum that Giran spits from his mouth, putting him in a dire situation. Just as he is about to be thrown out of the ring, Goku's severed tail regrows, significantly boosting his power. Witnessing this transformation, Giran chooses to surrender.

The fifth match is the semi-finals fight between Kuririn and Jackie Chun. Kuririn and Jackie's battle takes place at an ultra-fast pace that the eye cannot follow. The spectators attending the Tenkaichi Budokai are highly excited by the intense level of the fight. Kuririn puts up a strong performance against Jackie, but he becomes overly eager to win. As a result, he is struck by Jackie's karate chop after Jackie moves behind him, causing Kuririn to be knocked down. Unfortunately, Kuririn is defeated in the semi-finals.

The sixth match is Goku and Namu's semi-finals fight. Goku attacks Namu by imitating the Zanzouken that Jackie displayed during his fight with Kuririn. Namu skillfully dodges this attack. Namu attempts to finish Goku off with his special attack, the Tenku pekeji-ken. Goku is hit by the attack and downed, but revives right before the count of ten. Namu further attacks him with the Super Tenku pekeji-ken, but Goku breaks through the technique. Goku then advances to the finals.

The finals of the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai have been set. Goku is thrown out of bounds by Jackie, but he spins his tail like a propeller to return to the ring. Goku and Jackie give their all, each unleashing a Kamehameha at the same time. Goku's Kamehameha matches Jackie's evenly, sending it back. The battle continues with an intense exchange of techniques, including the Zanzouken, the Suiken, and the Saruken.

Intensifying the battle against Goku, Jackie employs the Yoiko Min-Min Ken, inducing a deep sleep in Goku. Though he manages to escape this predicament, Goku is soon struck by Jackie's special technique, the Bankoku-Bikkuri-Sho. The attack sends a shockwave through Goku's body like an electric current, leaving him paralyzed. On the verge of giving up, Goku spots the full moon and transforms into an Oozaru. In response, Jackie launches an oversized Kamehameha at the transformed Goku. The outcome of this clash remains uncertain.

In a pivotal moment, Jackie prevents Goku from transforming into an Oozaru by "blowing away the moon," causing Goku to revert to his normal form and allowing the match to restart. As both fighters grow increasingly exhausted and weakened by hunger, they summon their remaining strength for a final clash. Sustaining slightly less damage, Jackie claims victory in the championship. Reflecting on the encounter, Goku and Kuririn recognize the presence of many powerful individuals in the world and resolve to train even harder.

In *Searching for the Dragon Balls*, Goku travels to a desert region where he learns of the legend of the moving lake. There, he rescues Namu, who is being attacked by monsters. Namu had gone upstream to investigate why the river had dried up. Upon discovering that Giran and his tribe had dammed the river, Goku destroys the dam with a Kamehameha. However, the action triggers a sandstorm that buries the river. The villagers are devastated, but when the sandstorm passes, it reveals the legendary lake.

When the Dragon Radar is stolen by a thief, Goku finds it in a secondhand goods store. A Dragon Ball signal appears there, prompting Pilaf and his group to purchase what they believe to be a genuine Dragon Ball from the store owner. However, it turns out to be a fake. The store owner attempts to sell another fake to a mysterious army searching for the Dragon Balls, but they detect the deception and shoot him. The real Dragon Ball is later discovered in a bird's nest on the roof of the shop. Startled by the gunfire, the bird takes flight, carrying the Dragon Ball with it.

The army searching for the Dragon Ball is revealed to be Captain Silver's Red Ribbon Army unit. Silver and Pilaf pursue the Dragon Ball, which is later found inside the stomach of a monster defeated by Gyumao. Upon hearing that Goku is approaching, they prepare a welcoming party for him. Pilaf creates a disguised version of Goku using Shuu and sends him into the village, but the Silver Corporation launches an attack. Amid the chaos, Pilaf retrieves the Dragon Ball and escapes to his mobile base. After reuniting with Chichi, Goku senses something is wrong and rushes to the village.

Before leaving, Goku gives his final words to Gyumao and Chichi, then sets off in pursuit of Pilaf and his group. At the same time, Silver, following the signal from the Dragon Radar, locates Pilaf’s secret base. He calls for reinforcements and launches an all-out attack. Goku, having infiltrated the base, rushes toward where the Dragon Ball is located. Pilaf attempts to escape, but the mobile base he is in is struck by the combined assault of the Red Ribbon Army, causing an explosion that also injures Goku. In the end, the Dragon Ball ends up in Silver’s possession.

After returning to Red Ribbon Army Headquarters, Silver receives his orders from the commander and sets out once again to search for the Dragon Balls. At the same time, Goku, having been rescued from the explosion of the moving base by Kinto'un, resumes his search for the Four-Star Ball. Silver discovers that a baby monkey Goku had previously saved on a mountain is in possession of a Dragon Ball and, in response, he shoots fire at the mountain. The monkeys are forced to flee the flames. As Silver aims a rifle at the baby monkey, Goku intervenes and saves it. However, the Dragon Ball escapes downstream.

Using the Dragon Radar created by Bulma, Goku quickly locates the Dragon Ball that has floated down the river. However, Kinto'un is blown away by Captain Silver's bazooka. After defeating Silver with a single tail swipe, Goku travels north in a plane piloted by a robot that emerged from a capsule. Goku struggles with the intense cold, and the robot also freezes solid, causing the plane to crash. Goku, now frozen, is rescued by a girl named Sno.

Goku wakes up in Sno's house and receives gentle care from her and her mother. Sno becomes frightened upon learning that Goku is searching for the Dragon Balls. In the village, General White of the Red Ribbon Army has taken the mayor hostage and is using the townspeople to search for a Dragon Ball. After regaining his health, Goku defeats the soldiers who came to pursue him and heads for General White's base, Muscle Tower, to rescue the mayor. After defeating the soldiers outside, Goku immediately rushes to the second floor of the tower.

General White's voice echoes throughout Muscle Tower as he taunts Goku while ascending to the top floor where the mayor is located. Goku defeats the soldiers on the second floor and moves on to the third. The third floor is guarded by the immortal giant, Sergeant Metallic. Goku faces a difficult battle against Metallic, who keeps getting back up no matter how many times Goku knocks him down. He continues fighting even after having his head destroyed by a Kamehameha. It is later revealed that Metallic is a robot. However, Metallic stops just as Goku is in a difficult situation—his battery has run out.

After infiltrating the pitch-black fourth floor, Goku is struck by Master Sergeant Murasaki’s ninja attacks. He faces a difficult battle against these relentless assaults. However, Goku manages to read Murasaki’s movements, turning the situation in his favor. Goku breaks through Murasaki’s ninjutsu one by one. Eventually, Murasaki’s sword breaks. Murasaki then challenges Goku to an unarmed match, prompting Goku to put away the Nyoi-Bo. Taking advantage of this opening, Murasaki throws a boomerang shuriken. Goku is caught off guard and struck directly in the back of the head. He is now in grave danger.

Failing to defeat Goku with the boomerang shuriken, Murasaki resorts to his final ninjutsu, the Bunshin no Jutsu (Split-Image Technique). Somehow multiplying into five, the Murasakis each draw different weapons. Unable to determine which is the real one, Goku is forced to retreat. It is later revealed that the Murasakis are actually a set of quintuplets. Realizing they are all genuine, Goku quickly uses the Zanzouken to defeat four of them in an instant. With no further options, Murasaki summons Artificial Human No. 8.

The Artificial Human No. 8 summoned by Murasaki exhibits a gentle personality and avoids conflict. As Murasaki prepares to destroy No. 8 for refusing to obey his orders, Goku defeats Murasaki with a single strike. Now allied with Goku, No. 8—affectionately called Ha-chan—guides him to the top level, floor six. Ha-chan attempts to convince White to cease his harmful actions, but Goku and Ha-chan are lured into a trap, falling through a trapdoor to the fifth floor. There, they encounter the lair of the monster Buyon.

Imprisoned on the fifth floor, Buyon is a monster who is completely unaffected by Goku’s techniques. His body can absorb any attack. Goku is in an absolutely desperate situation. However, Goku destroys the wall, having remembered the time when he was frozen. Buyon is frozen solid by the frigidly cold air. After enduring the frigid air by huddling close to Ha-chan, who is immune to the cold, Goku manages to shatter Buyon with a single blow. Returning to the sixth floor, Goku attacks White.

After being beaten up by Goku, White leads the two of them to the mayor’s room. As soon as Goku and Ha-chan lower their guard, he takes the mayor hostage. Ha-chan is unsure of what to do. Goku is knocked down after being struck by a single shot from the powered gun. A second shot is about to finish him off, but Ha-chan acts as a human shield and protects Goku. With White in a state of panic, Ha-chan’s punch explodes. Having saved Goku and the mayor, Ha-chan destroys Muscle Tower.

It is revealed that Ha-chan possesses a Dragon Ball, which he had concealed, aware that the villagers would be killed if they discovered it. The mayor suggests that Ha-chan remain in the village, but Ha-chan refuses, citing the danger posed by his self-destruct mechanism. To have the mechanism removed, the group travels to see Ha-chan’s creator, Dr. Flappe. However, Murasaki arrives there before them and attempts to steal Goku’s luggage in hopes of finding the Dragon Balls. His efforts are in vain, as the luggage only contains Goku’s bento, a single-portion meal. Ultimately, the self-destruct mechanism is successfully removed.

In an effort to repair his malfunctioning Dragon Radar, Goku travels to West City, where Bulma resides. Kinto'un is also revived, and the journey proceeds smoothly. However, Goku is unaware of Bulma's address. While encountering trouble with a group of delinquents, he asks around for her, but struggles to locate her in the large city. A policeman eventually helps Goku reach Bulma's home. It is revealed that Bulma is the only daughter of Capsule Corporation, a major company well known even in this urban area.

Goku finally reunites with Bulma, but the two find themselves in the middle of an argument between Bulma and Yamcha. Riding on Kinto'un with Bulma, who has shrunk using the micro-band, Goku meets up with Yamcha and the others. Unaware of Bulma's shrunken form, Yamcha speaks negatively about her directly in front of her. Goku and the group then head toward the floating amusement park, with Bulma in a foul mood. Upon arrival, they encounter Husky, an entrepreneur hired by the Red Ribbon Army, who is after Goku's Dragon Balls.

As Goku and the others enjoy the floating amusement park, Husky grows closer to them and attempts to seduce Yamcha, who is in possession of a Dragon Ball. Recognizing her as his opponent, Yamcha confronts her, but is knocked out by Bulma, who mistakenly believes the scene to be romantic. Husky leaves behind a bomb and flees. Goku manages to disable the bomb's controls at the last moment, reclaiming the Dragon Balls. However, an enraged Bulma joins Goku in continuing the search for the remaining Dragon Balls.

Bulma and Goku arrived at the middle of the sea, which was General Blue’s territory, where he was searching for the Dragon Balls. After being dropped into the sea by Bulma from a nearby island, Goku dove in, but the water was too deep for him to hold his breath. Left alone, Bulma wandered the island attempting to buy capsules, only to discover that there was a Red Ribbon Army base there. Goku returned in time to defeat the soldiers attacking Bulma. He then suggested they borrow a submarine from the Turtle Hermit.

Goku arrives at Kame House, but Kuririn and Lunch are away using the submarine for shopping. The Turtle Hermit demands the micro-band in exchange for allowing them to borrow the submarine. He intends to shrink himself and spy on Bulma while she uses the toilet and bath. However, when the Turtle Hermit attempts to peek in on her, he is flushed down the toilet. When Kuririn returns, Goku and Bulma set off with him. Meanwhile, General Blue, having used the Dragon Radar to track Goku’s Dragon Balls, discovers Kame House.

In addition to the group pursuing Goku and the others, General Blue dispatches a separate unit to attack Kame House, believing the Turtle Hermit to be the scientist who developed the Dragon Radar. As Goku and the others pursue the Dragon Ball that fell into the sea-bottom chasm, they enter the cavity from the opposite side and discover a cave. General Blue’s submarine then launches a sudden attack. Bulma and Krillin are thrown into panic upon realizing that their attackers are the Red Ribbon Army. Blue’s submarine continues to pursue Goku and the others as they retreat into the cave.

General Blue’s detached group arrives at Kame House. The commander threatens the Turtle Hermit, but is instead easily defeated. The commander takes Lunch hostage, but he is completely cornered after Lunch sneezes and becomes violent. Meanwhile, after fleeing into the cave, Goku and the others’ submarine has entered a waterless cave. They run off, leaving the submarine behind. For some reason, the cave is equipped with electric lights. This was the pirates’ secret base.

In *Dragon Ball*, it is believed that treasure is hidden within a pirate's cave, protected by a series of deadly traps. Goku and his companions manage to navigate through these dangers, including a wall that launches spears and a trapdoor leading to a lava pit. The Red Ribbon Army is entirely eliminated in the process, with Blue being the sole survivor. Reaching the end of the path, Goku and the others emerge at the pirate's underwater dock. Goku senses movement nearby, and a skeleton-like battle robot appears, immediately launching an attack on them.

Goku and Kuririn challenge a skeleton robot to battle, but the robot proves to be very strong. Goku is buried under rubble, and Bulma and Kuririn are trapped inside a building. As the situation becomes desperate, Goku emerges from the rubble and rescues them. After Bulma and Kuririn flee, Goku launches a dive-bomb attack from the roof, which causes the powerful robot to explode. Goku then pursues the two, but Blue changes the sign that Bulma and Kuririn had left.

Goku is led down the wrong path by Blue's deception. The robot's explosion triggers the cave to begin collapsing. Bulma and Kuririn reach the pirate's hideout, but Blue follows them there. A fierce battle ensues between Blue and Kuririn. However, Kuririn is paralyzed when he looks into Blue's glowing eyes. It is revealed that Blue possesses psychic abilities. Goku arrives just in time as Blue is about to deliver a finishing blow to Kuririn.

Goku has the upper hand in his battle against Blue. After being beaten down, Blue uses his psychic abilities to paralyze Goku and pulls out a rifle. Goku is in trouble, but Blue is suddenly distracted by a passing mouse, causing his psychic powers to fade. Seizing the opportunity, Goku counters and defeats Blue. Meanwhile, Bulma and Krillin attempt to escape in a pirate submarine, and Goku pursues them after retrieving the Dragon Ball. The cave they are in is on the verge of collapsing.

Just as the cave is about to collapse, Goku appears at the sea-bottom dock. He has with him the mouse he owes his life to. Bulma launches the submarine, but it runs out of gas and stops. The sea-bottom canal is collapsing. Goku’s Kamehameha pushes the submarine to safety. They return to Kame House with a pirate diamond. However, Blue has tenaciously survived and follows them. What’s more, Lunch takes the diamond and leaves after changing into her violent form.

Blue uses his psychic powers to manipulate ropes to attack Goku and the others, who are relaxing after returning from the sea-bottom cave. Everyone is tied up, and Goku has his tail grabbed, preventing him from using his full power. Blue steals the Dragon Balls and plants a bomb before fleeing. Goku is saved by Lunch, who returns after reverting to her original personality, and he chases after Blue's rocket. After an intense chase, the two finally arrive in Penguin Village, home to Arale Norimaki.

Arale is a mysterious young girl Goku meets in Penguin Village, who possesses the ability to run at super speed and even ride the Kinto'un. The village's police force, including Taro and others, attempts to capture Blue of the Red Ribbon Army, but they are unable to inflict any damage on him. Meanwhile, the Dragon Radar is malfunctioning, preventing Goku from locating the Dragon Balls. Unable to resolve the issue on his own, Goku follows Arale's suggestion and seeks out Dr. Senbe, who may be able to repair the Dragon Radar.

Dr. Senbe’s eldest son, Turbo-kun, repairs the Dragon Radar. Blue then arrives, takes Arale hostage, and steals the Dragon Radar, using his psychic powers to immobilize Goku. At this point, Arale uses her surprising strength to send Blue flying. Although the Dragon Balls are eventually returned, the Dragon Radar is carried away with Blue. Goku is given a newly constructed Dragon Radar by Turbo and departs from Penguin Village.

A volcanic eruption sends the Four-Star Dragon Ball flying into the Karin Holy Land, a sacred area protected by Bora and his son Upa. Bora uses his immense power to repel Captain Yellow's Red Ribbon Army, who are in pursuit of the Dragon Ball. However, Yellow captures Upa and demands the Dragon Ball in exchange for his release. Goku, passing by at the time, defeats Yellow in a single strike and rescues Upa. Meanwhile, at the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters, the world's greatest assassin, Tao Pai-pai, arrives after being summoned by Commander Red.

After returning to Red Ribbon Army Headquarters, Blue is killed by a single blow from Tao Pai-pai’s tongue. Tao Pai-pai then heads for the Karin Holy Land to confront Goku. Meanwhile, Goku obtains the Four-Star Ball, fulfilling his heart’s desire. He also learns of the legend of the Super Holy Water, a substance said to be given by a sage residing at the top of Karin Tower, which, when consumed, can greatly multiply one's power. Tao Pai-pai soon arrives, and Bora attempts to face him, but is killed instantly by Tao Pai-pai’s overwhelming strength. Goku challenges Tao Pai-pai, but...

Goku is completely helpless before the might of Tao Pai-pai, who remains unaffected by even the Kamehameha. Goku is felled after taking a direct hit from Tao Pai-pai’s sure-to-kill Dodonpa. Tao Pai-pai steals the Dragon Balls and heads to a town to get new clothes to replace his tattered ones. However, Goku survived—the Four-Star Ball that he had on his breast protected him. After resolving to use the Dragon Balls to restore Bora to life, Goku climbs Karin Tower in order to become stronger than Tao Pai-pai. However, no matter how far he climbs, he is still unable to see the top.

Goku makes his way to the top of the tower, where he meets the cat sage Karin, who takes the form of a cat. In order to drink the Super Sacred Water, which has the power to greatly enhance his strength, Goku must steal the jar containing the water from Karin. He chases after Karin with all his strength, but is unable to reach the jar. Karin explains that the only person who has ever successfully drunk the Super Sacred Water was Muten Roshi, 300 years ago. However, Karin also notes that it took Roshi three years to accomplish this feat.

After retrieving the Four-Star Ball that Karin-sama dropped, Goku makes the round trip up Karin Tower in three hours, despite it having taken him an entire day on his first climb. During the night, Goku copies the sleeping Karin-sama's breathing and movements, eventually learning to anticipate them and obtaining the jar of Super Sacred Water. However, the jar contains only ordinary water. It is later revealed that the act of obtaining the jar itself was a form of training that significantly increased Goku's power. At the same time, having acquired brand new clothes, Tao Pai-pai sets out for the holy land once again.

Upon arriving in the holy land, Tao Pai-pai attacks Upa in an attempt to learn the location of the Four-Star Ball. Frustrated by Upa's refusal to speak, Tao Pai-pai tries to kill him, only for Goku to suddenly appear. Goku and Tao Pai-pai confront each other once again. This time, the powered-up Goku holds a clear advantage. When Tao Pai-pai discovers that Goku has gained more strength through the legendary Super Sacred Water, he climbs the tower in an effort to drink the water himself. However, Goku does not attempt to follow him.

After climbing Karin Tower, Tao Pai-pai attempts to obtain the Super Sacred Water by threatening Karin-sama. However, Karin-sama outwits him and sends him back to the surface. Upon returning to the holy land, Tao Pai-pai launches a violent attack, but Goku remains unharmed. Tao Pai-pai then turns pale and tries to use a bomb, but Goku kicks it back, causing Tao Pai-pai to blow himself up. After collecting the four Dragon Balls, Goku flies to the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters to find the remaining ones.

Using the Dragon Radar stolen from Goku, Captain Violet returns to Red Ribbon Army Headquarters with a second Dragon Ball. Commander Red is unaware of Tao Pai-pai’s defeat and watches with amusement as the signal from the four Dragon Balls Goku is carrying approaches on the radar. Meanwhile, Goku’s friends at Kame House use Bulma’s reconnaissance mecha to discover that Goku’s target is the Red Ribbon Army’s stronghold. In order to rescue Goku, Bulma and the others rush to the Red Ribbon Army Headquarters in Yamcha’s plane.

Goku's friends pick up Kuririn, who had been out shopping, and set off after Goku. They are all prepared to face death. Meanwhile, the Red Ribbon Army realizes the approaching signal is not Tao Pai-pai, and launches a general offensive against Goku. Fending off missiles and fighter planes, Goku charges into the base and in the blink of an eye defeats nearly half the soldiers. Commander Red is horrified by Goku's power, which far surpasses his imagination.

The Red Ribbon Army is on the brink of annihilation due to Goku's actions. Captain Violet steals the money from the vault and flees. Cornered, Commander Red attempts to kill both Goku and Black. It is revealed that Red's objective was simply to use the Dragon Balls to increase his height. After surviving the encounter, Black kills Red and confronts Goku in the Battle Jacket. Goku is knocked out by the Jacket's formidable power and is unable to move. A beam aimed to kill Goku is about to fire.

After Goku dodges the beam, Black tries to use a missile to炸 Goku and the entire base, but Goku repels the missile. As Black realizes he has no chance to win and tries to run away, Goku finishes him off with a single blow, causing the Battle Jacket to explode. Goku reunites with his friends, who had been hiding in the forest preparing their strategy, and even they are amazed at his strength. Only one Dragon Ball remains. However, for some reason, the Dragon Radar isn't picking up its signal.

Goku has defeated the Red Ribbon Army but is unable to locate the seventh Dragon Ball. Seeking guidance, he turns to the fortune-teller Uranai Baba, recommended to him by the Turtle Hermit. Along the way, Goku and his companions visit Karin Tower and bring Upa with them to Uranai Baba's palace. To receive a reading from her, however, one must either pay 10 million zeni or battle her five competitors. Goku and the others agree to the challenge, though reluctantly.

Dracula Man, the first opponent, challenges Kuririn. Kuririn is filled with confidence, but he gets bitten in the head by Dracula Man and has his blood sucked. Having lost a large amount of blood, Kuririn is ultimately defeated by Dracula Man. Goku and the others then work on a strategy, and Upa and Puar participate together. They blow Dracula Man away with the things a vampire hates, garlic and the crucifix. Moving on, they pass the baton to Yamcha, but the next opponent is Mr. Invisible, an invisible man of all things.

Yamcha faces a difficult battle against an invisible opponent who cannot be detected. Goku returns after being told by Kuririn to bring the Turtle Hermit and Bulma. At the right moment, Kuririn pulls down Bulma’s clothing, and the Turtle Hermit experiences a nosebleed upon seeing her chest. The invisible man's form is revealed by the blood from the nosebleed, and Yamcha defeats him. Kuririn's strategy proves successful. The battle then moves to the "Demons' Toilet."

The "Demons' Toilet" is lined with demon statues and surrounded by a poisonous bog. The third contestant to appear is the mummy man, Mummy-kun. Despite his appearance, Mummy-kun possesses ultra power and speed that surpass Yamcha's. Yamcha faces him with determination, but the difference in their power becomes clear. Still not understanding the full extent of the challenge, Yamcha fights on until the end, but he is finally defeated. In place of Yamcha, who put up a good fight, Goku at last debuts.

The battle between Mummy-kun and Goku begins. Mummy-kun launches aggressive attacks, but they have no effect on Goku. Enraged, Mummy-kun attempts to strike with his bandages. The bandages wrap around Goku's entire body, but he refuses to give up. Thinking quickly, Goku uses the poisonous bog to escape the bandages and defeats Mummy-kun with a single punch. The fourth character to appear is the devil Akkuman. However, even Akkuman is unable to overcome Goku's power.

Akkuman faces a difficult battle against Goku's immense power and launches the Devil Might Beam. This terrifying attack multiplies the small amount of evil hidden within a person's heart infinitely, causing them to explode. Goku is struck by the Devil Might Beam, but for some reason, it has no effect on him. It is revealed that Goku, somehow, does not possess an evil heart. Goku ultimately defeats Akkuman by blowing him away. Then, the fifth man appears, and Goku feels a sense of nostalgia.

The fox mask–wearing fifth man is not an ordinary individual. A fast-paced and intense offensive and defensive battle ensues. During the fight, the fox mask man unexpectedly launches a Kamehameha. Goku does not lose, countering with his own Kamehameha and knocking the man down. Just as it appears Goku has gained the upper hand, the fox mask man seizes on Goku's vulnerability—his tail. Observing this, the Turtle Hermit deduces the fox mask man's identity, revealing him to be Son Goku's deceased adoptive grandfather, Son Gohan.

The fox-masked man grabs Goku’s tail and attacks him, but during the struggle, Goku’s tail is torn off. With his vulnerability gone, Goku prepares to fight back, prompting the man to immediately surrender. It is then revealed that the man is actually Goku’s adoptive grandfather, Son Gohan. Overjoyed by the reunion, Goku embraces his grandfather. Thanks to a visit from Uranai Baba, Gohan had been allowed to return from the afterlife for just one day. After a short time together, Gohan must return to the afterlife once more.

After Uranai Baba reveals the location of the seventh Dragon Ball, Goku immediately departs on Kinto'un to retrieve it. However, he discovers that the Dragon Ball is in the possession of Pilaf and his henchmen, who had previously caused trouble for Goku and his companions. A confrontation ensues as Pilaf, who intends to use the Dragon Ball to take over the world, challenges Goku. Pilaf engages Goku in battle using his mecha, the Pilaf Machine, and though he puts up a surprisingly strong fight, he ultimately loses. Goku successfully claims the final Dragon Ball.

After collecting the seven Dragon Balls, Goku returns to Karin Tower with Upa. In response to Goku's summons, Shen Long appears once again. Though frightened by the gigantic Shen Long, Upa still speaks his wish. Upon hearing the wish, Shen Long brings Upa's father, Bora, back to life, who had been killed by Tao Pai-pai. Goku says his farewell to Upa and his father before returning to his friends. Following the Turtle Hermit's advice, he then sets out on a journey to seek even greater power.

After embarking on his own training journey, Goku visits the village of Chao, a boy he had met along the way. Chao's village is being terrorized by the outlaw brothers Kinkaku and Ginkaku. Goku confronts the brothers, but is captured and sealed inside a mysterious gourd that traps anyone who fails to answer when their name is called. Goku is eventually rescued by the Nyoi-Bo, which he uses to steal the gourd and deliver justice to Kinkaku and Ginkaku.

During his training journey, Goku arrives in a city where he learns about a martial artist named Chin Taiken and ends up taking his place in an important match after Taiken falls ill. However, Taiken’s son, Shoken, opposes Goku's participation and gives him food laced with laxatives. The match against Ten Long, a master of Hyuga-Ryu, then begins. An intense battle ensues, but Goku starts to feel the effects of the laxatives in his stomach. Despite this, he manages to endure and ultimately wins the match.

While traveling, Goku comes across the Village of Fiends. As night falls, creatures emerge from the Demon Realm Gate, which lies between this world and the Demon Realm, and begin terrorizing the village. To rescue Princess Misa, who has been kidnapped by the fiends, Goku enters the Demon Realm Gate. After facing off against Shura, the martial arts master of the Demon Realm, Goku blinds the fiends with a Kamehameha and rescues Princess Misa when they are caught off guard. Goku then reseals the Demon Realm Gate.

Goku witnesses the martial artists Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu defeat the monster Inoshikacho, which had been terrorizing the village. In reality, however, the two had been friends with Inoshikacho and had been secretly taking money from the villagers. Goku attempts to reveal the truth to the villagers but ends up being framed instead, leading to him and Inoshikacho being chased by the villagers. Eventually, the villagers' suspicions are cleared, and Inoshikacho, having reformed, ends up living peacefully among them.

Three years have passed since Goku began his training journey. One day, Goku rescues Konkichi, a fox boy who was being pursued by an evil group. As a token of gratitude, Konkichi promises to help Goku obtain the traveling fare needed to reach the Tenkaichi Budokai grounds. However, Konkichi is soon arrested for bank robbery. He insists that while he may be a thief, he is not responsible for the bank heist. To help clear Konkichi's name, Goku successfully captures the real criminals.

The 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai finally begins. Kuririn and Yamcha arrive at the tournament site, where they are confronted by the Crane Hermit, rival of the Turtle Hermit, along with his disciples Chiaotzu and Tenshinhan. The Crane Hermit departs after making several offensive remarks. Meanwhile, Goku is missing, and the registration deadline is approaching. As the others grow concerned, Goku arrives just in time, allowing the group to reunite after three years.

The tournament preliminaries have begun. Kuririn and Yamcha naturally advance through their respective brackets. Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu arrive and provoke them with their bold demeanor. Tension rises between the Turtle Hermit and the Crane Hermit's disciples before the matches even begin. Tenshinhan easily wins during his first appearance in the preliminaries, showing only a fraction of his seemingly limitless ability. And then it is finally Goku's turn. His opponent is King Chapa, a well-known master.

Goku's match against King Chapa begins. Although it appears Goku is struggling at first, he quickly dismisses King Chapa's attacks and secures a decisive victory. Following this, Goku and his companions continue to advance successfully through the preliminary rounds. Jackie Chun, the previous tournament champion, also progresses without difficulty. Meanwhile, Tenshinhan defeats Namu, who had previously faced Goku in the semi-finals. As a result, Goku and his team, along with Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu, all qualify for the main tournament.

A lottery is held to determine the match pairings among the eight contestants who have advanced to the main tournament. Tenshinhan uses Chiaotzu's psychic abilities to manipulate the match combinations to his advantage. As a result, the first match is set as Yamcha versus Tenshinhan. Yamcha holds a deep resentment toward the provoking Tenshinhan. When the match begins, it turns into an intense back-and-forth battle, with neither fighter gaining a clear advantage.

Yamcha and Tenshinhan engage in a fierce battle. Yamcha attacks with the Shin Roga fu-fu ken, but is steadily forced back and finds himself in a difficult position. As a last resort, Yamcha unleashes a Kamehameha, but Tenshinhan deflects the attack and defeats the struggling Yamcha midair. Tenshinhan then delivers a final blow to the unconscious Yamcha. Witnessing this, Goku becomes filled with intense anger toward the cold-hearted Tenshinhan.

The Manwolf, who faces Jackie Chun in the second match, appears to hold a grudge against Jackie for an unknown reason. It is later revealed that Jackie destroyed the moon with a Kamehameha during the previous tournament, preventing the Manwolf—whose transformation into human form depends on seeing the moon—from reverting to his human state. Jackie easily defeats the Manwolf and, to resolve the situation, uses Kuririn’s head as a substitute for the moon, allowing the Manwolf to return to human form.

The third match turns into a showdown between Kuririn and Chiaotzu. Kuririn is confused by Chiaotzu’s unusual techniques. Chiaotzu flies freely through the air and launches a "Dodonpa," the same move used by the assassin Tao Pai-pai. It is revealed that Tao Pai-pai is actually the younger brother of the Crane Hermit. After learning that Goku defeated Tao Pai-pai, the Crane Hermit commands Chiaotzu to kill Kuririn. With no other options, Kuririn decides to use a Kamehameha.

Kuririn's Kamehameha strikes Chiaotzu directly. Enraged, Chiaotzu uses his psychic powers to immobilize Kuririn and attacks him. Kuririn, however, discovers that Chiaotzu channels his psychic abilities through his hands, and quickly distracts him by posing a math problem. Chiaotzu, attempting to use his hands to solve it, is defeated. Later that night, Goku is attacked by the Crane Hermit, but Tenshinhan intervenes and halts the assault, declaring his intent to defeat Goku in their upcoming match.

Goku's turn finally arrives, and his opponent is the action star contestant Panputto. However, Panputto's manager fears Goku's strength and, just before the match, tricks Goku and takes him away. As Goku is on the verge of losing by default, with Lunch's help, he barely makes it to the match on time. The match begins, and Goku wins in the blink of an eye, having already acquired strength beyond the level of an ordinary human.

The first semi-final match features Jackie Chun against Tenshinhan. Prior to the fight, both competitors are filled with intense determination. The battle begins with Jackie launching a multi-fold Zanzouken attack, but Tenshinhan skillfully counters and breaks through it. Dismissing Jackie's efforts, Tenshinhan overwhelms him with his superior strength. At the same time, realizing that Tenshinhan possesses more power than he anticipated, Jackie begins to sense the arrival of a new era.

It’s the intense showdown between Jackie and Tenshinhan! Tenshinhan becomes serious and employs the Taiyou-ken. Stunned by the flash, Jackie is knocked down by a knee kick. After getting back up, Jackie attempts to convince Tenshinhan to follow the true path. However, Tenshinhan recognizes Jackie as the Turtle Hermit and launches a Kamehameha. Jackie manages to deflect the Kamehameha and then leaps down from the arena, accepting an out-of-bounds loss.

After Jackie's loss due to going out of bounds, Tenshinhan is bewildered by the outcome and seeks out the Turtle Hermit to understand his reasoning. The Turtle Hermit explains that the time has come to gradually pass the era over to the younger generation of heroes and once again urges Tenshinhan to pursue the true path. Tenshinhan begins to reconsider his stance. Meanwhile, at the tournament grounds, Goku and Krillin's first match has commenced, with both fighters engaging at full strength and holding nothing back.

In the semi-finals, a fierce battle ensues where neither side gives an inch. Kuririn has improved significantly since their last encounter, but Goku has grown even stronger. As Kuririn begins to be gradually pushed back, he seizes an opening and targets Goku’s weakness—his tail. However, this move proves ineffective, as Goku had strengthened his tail during his training. Moving at incredible speed, Goku becomes nearly invisible, launching a powerful attack that sends Kuririn out of the arena and secures his victory.

The morning of the finals finally arrives, and the tournament grounds are filled with a large crowd eager to witness the match. Seeing the excitement, Goku is filled with a strong fighting spirit. Meanwhile, Tenshinhan is inspired by the Turtle Hermit’s words and makes his way to the arena, seemingly to overcome his doubts. The final round begins at last. As the match starts, the two fighters immediately engage in a fierce and intense battle. Tenshinhan, having studied Goku’s style, presses forward with calculated attacks, forcing Goku into a difficult position.

Tenshinhan employs his secret technique, the Haikyu-ken, to strike Goku and send him crashing into the floor. However, Goku quickly recovers and faces Tenshinhan not with the power he typically uses in matches, but with the power he reserves for battle. Their techniques clash intensely. Goku's Zanzouken proves effective, knocking Tenshinhan down. In response, Tenshinhan uses his even more secret technique, the Taiyou-Ken, but Goku counters by using sunglasses, ultimately causing Tenshinhan to be the one who is knocked down. The two continue their fierce match, but Goku's condition suddenly takes an unusual turn.

Goku suddenly finds himself unable to move his body, a result of Chiaotzu's psychic powers used under the Crane Hermit's orders to immobilize him. However, Tenshinhan recognizes the Crane Hermit's deception and intervenes, demonstrating the heart of a true martial artist. Enraged by this turn of events, the Crane Hermit is ultimately defeated when the Turtle Hermit uses the Kamehameha to knock him away. With the interference removed, Goku and Tenshinhan finally begin their long-awaited, earnest match.

To test Goku's ability, Tenshinhan employs his even more secret technique, the Shiyou-ken. Two additional arms emerge from his back, and Tenshinhan attacks using all four arms. However, Goku continues his assault without showing any reaction. To determine the outcome of the match, Tenshinhan decides to use his ultimate secret technique, the Kikouhou (Energy Cannon). This technique possesses destructive power far greater than the Kamehameha. The Kikouhou completely obliterates the arena.
