El Pantera

*El Pantera* is a Mexican television series produced by Canal 5, based on a comic book of the same name. It follows the story of Gervasio, a young man who takes on the role of a vigilante fighting crime in Mexico City. The title character is portrayed by Luis Roberto Guzmán. The series began its initial broadcast in May 2007 and is filmed in Mexico City. It is produced by Rodolfo de Anda and Alexis Ayala. As of its current run, the third season airs on Mondays at 10:00pm on Canal 5 and on Tuesdays at 21:30pm on cable channel Galavisión. The El Pantera character was originally created in the 1970s by writer Daniel Muñoz and artist Juan Alba for Mundo Vid. In the 1990s, Muñoz wrote a novel titled *El Pantera, or La Noche del Pantera*, followed by *El Misterio de la Amenaza Negra*.
