The land is ruled by the fearsome Demon King, who was defeated in ancient times by the first-generation hero. Since then, the Demon King has repeatedly been resurrected, and with each return, a new hero has emerged to oppose him. To prepare for his next resurgence, girls train at an adventurer's academy with the goal of becoming part of the hero's party. Among the students is Yusha, who possesses the body of a hero but is somewhat absent-minded. Seyla, a holy elf, constantly faces troubles due to her overly serious nature. Fai is a cheerful warrior with a love for food, while Mei is a quiet, otaku-like magician. As the four girls pursue their dream of joining the hero's party, they live out relaxed fantasy lives, showing no sign of ever actually defeating the Demon King, no matter how much time passes.
