Fimbles

Fimbles is a British television programme aimed at pre-school children. The main characters are Fimbo, Florrie, and Baby Pom, who live in a vibrant and colorful place known as Fimble Valley. The show is produced by Novel Entertainment, the company responsible for creating the characters. The Fimbles are described as magical beings. The Fimbles' distinctive snouted, concentrically-ringed design was inspired by the eponymous villains in *Lucy Anna and the Finders*, a book written and illustrated by Sarah Hayes. Hayes is credited in the show's production and contributed to adapting the characters for television, though the Finders, who are portrayed as implacably omnivorous, share no further similarities with the Fimbles. The 200 episodes of the series were written by various contributors, with notable input from programme producer Lucinda Whiteley. The Fimbles are depicted as cuddly, hippo-like creatures, brought to life by 'skin' actors wearing complex, fluffy animatronic suits. While they are visually similar, they are differentiated by their colors and sizes: Fimbo is yellow with green stripes, the tallest of the three, and enjoys eating Crumble Crackers; Florrie is turquoise with purple stripes, slightly smaller than Fimbo, and often carries a Fimble-like doll named Little One; Baby Pom is the smallest, pink with green stripes, and behaves like a toddler, often following the others while pushing her Trundle Truck. Other characters in the series include Rockit, a blue tree frog; Roly Mo, a purple and green striped mole; Bessie, a plump, motherly pink bird; and Bessie's chick, Ribble. Initially, Ribble was depicted as a nearly featureless, squeaking blob of orange fur with a beak; more recent versions of the character have included eyes.
