Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

After escaping from Central Prison, the Freezing Alchemist, Isaac McDougal, begins implementing his plan to assassinate Führer King Bradley. Meanwhile, under the leadership of Lt. Col. Roy Mustang, the military and the State Alchemists work to prevent him.

On their way to Lior, Edward and Alphonse reflect on the events that led to them being trapped in their current bodies after breaking the taboo of human transmutation. At the same time, Colonel Roy Mustang recalls the first time he met the Elric brothers.

Ed and Al reach the city of Lior in search of the legendary Philosopher's Stone, which they hope will restore their bodies to their original forms. There, they encounter a priest named Cornello, who claims to perform "miracles." As Ed and Al dig deeper, they uncover the truth behind Cornello's actions.

Ed and Al become interested in biological transmutation after witnessing a chimera in Lior, so Colonel Mustang introduces them to an expert in the field, Shou Tucker, the Life-binding Alchemist. Meanwhile, a serial killer whose targets are only State Alchemists is on the loose in Central.

After learning about what happened to Shou Tucker and his daughter Nina, the Elric brothers begin to question what alchemy really is. Meanwhile, Colonel Mustang and the other State Alchemists track down the serial killer Scar.

Following their encounter with Scar, Ed's automail and Al's armor require repairs, so Major Armstrong accompanies them back to their hometown of Risembool. During the journey, they come across Dr. Marcoh, a scientist involved in the creation of the Philosopher's Stone, and attempt to persuade him to reveal the location of the Stone's research data.

When Ed and Al arrive at the Central Library, they discover that it has been burnt to the ground and are instead taken to see Sheska, a former employee who may have the information they seek. Meanwhile, in East City, an unexplained explosion causes Colonel Mustang to restart his search for Scar.

Ed and Al enter the Fifth Laboratory in search of more information regarding the origins of the Philosopher's Stone. Soon after, they are attacked by former death row inmates who now serve as guards of the facility.

Ed is now in a hospital recovering from his wounds, while Al is unable to let go of what Number 66 told him back at the Fifth Laboratory. Meanwhile, Winry agrees to make a trip to Central in order to repair Ed's automail—again.

As the conspiracy involving the Philosopher's Stone escalates and reaches the upper echelons of the military, one of Mustang's closest and most valued allies is killed.

The Elrics, realizing alchemy has yet to unlock the mysteries of creating life, feel powerless when a new friend goes into labor. Winry, however, jumps into action with a young thief named Paninya.

During their visit to Izumi, their childhood teacher, the Elrics reflect on the early challenges they faced in understanding equivalent exchange. They also learn that she, too, possesses their deep knowledge of alchemy's greatest taboo.

Al is captured by chimeras under the command of the seemingly indestructible Homunculus named Greed. When Ed's attempt to rescue him fails, Izumi demonstrates once again that she has the best interests of the brothers at heart.

In a violent confrontation with Greed, King Bradley demonstrates his ruthless strength. However, it is another individual who ultimately shatters the Ultimate Shield, possessing power that surpasses even that of the Fuhrer.

The Elric brothers engage in a confrontation with Ling Yao and his attendants, Lan Fan and Fu, who have traveled from Xing in pursuit of the Philosopher's Stone. While Edward does not hold Ling Yao in high regard, the Xingese prince remains determined to obtain what he came for and is not about to leave empty-handed.

After learning of Hughes's fate, Ed and Al are overwhelmed by sadness and guilt. Envy continues to remain hidden among the State Alchemists, and another Homunculus is on the verge of infiltrating their ranks as well.

Ross is freed by an unexpected liberator, but her escape is cut short when Mustang intervenes. The controversial action Mustang takes against the individual accused of killing Maes Hughes shocks even those most loyal to the Flame Alchemist.

Ed's journey to a distant land of legend reveals new, unexpected details about Mustang's alleyway encounter with Ross. Following a fateful encounter of his own, Elric discovers a surprising secret regarding Winry's parents.

Mustang, Alphonse, Havoc, and Hawkeye separate to investigate a military laboratory. If Lust succeeds in her plans, none of them will see one another alive again.

Hohenheim's visit concludes with a serious warning to Pinako, but Edward finds a sense of hope amid the burned remains of his childhood home. With renewed determination, he becomes more confident than ever that it is possible to return Alphonse's soul to his original body.

Ed and Al hope to learn more about the Homunculi by devising a risky strategy to lure the creatures out of hiding. The first step in the brothers' plan is to risk death at the hands of their most dangerous enemy, Scar.

The Homunculi are gaining the upper hand. Ed and Ling confront a terrifying adversary deep within the hellish confines of Gluttony's stomach. Meanwhile, in Central, Mustang is forced to watch as his trusted group of soldiers is split apart by Bradley.

Truths are revealed when Al discovers the one known as Father, and Mustang learns the story of Bradley's creation. However, the most astonishing revelation is reserved for Ed after he once again breaks alchemy's greatest taboo.

As Hohenheim sits by a warming fire, visions of the past unfold, prompting him to reflect on the inevitable follies of humanity: the pain that arises from a loving family, the concealed truths of alchemy, and the origins and consequences of war.

Millions of lifeless bodies litter the landscape of Amestris, and a being with the power to create suns is unleashed upon the world. Unless Hohenheim has something amazing up his sleeve, all is surely lost.

When Edward, Mustang, Hawkeye, Greed, Izumi, and Armstrong launch an attack on the god-like Father, a major battle ensues. The forces of good face overwhelming odds until a young boy makes a surprising and selfless sacrifice.

After the battle concludes, the character known as Father meets his ultimate fate beyond the Gateway. When the character known as Fullmetal enters the sacred space, he discovers only the promise of a new beginning.

As one shared journey comes to an end, many new journeys begin. Those most affected by the conflict surrounding the Philosopher's Stone now part ways. One thing remains certain: they will reunite again.
