The seven short films in *Genius Party* are highly diverse, connected only by their consistent quality and creative inspiration. Atsuko Fukushima's introductory piece is an abstract visual experience. Masaaki Yuasa, known for *Mind Game* and *Cat Soup*, contributes "Happy Machine," using his signature graphic style and dreamlike logic to explore a child's first year. Shinji Kimura's "Deathtic 4" delves into darker, more eerie aspects of a child's imagination. Hideki Futamura's "Limit Cycle" presents a vision of virtual reality, while Yuji Fukuyama's "Doorbell" and Shinichiro Watanabe's "Baby Blue" use subtle realism to achieve surreal effects. Shoji Kawamori's "Shanghai Dragon" reimagines traditional anime tropes in a playful and inventive way.
