*George Shrinks* is a French-Canadian/American/Chinese animated television series based on the children's book by William Joyce. It was produced in China by Jade Animation and in Canada by Nelvana, in association with the Public Broadcasting Service. The series follows George, a ten-year-old boy who dreams he has shrunk to three inches tall and wakes up to find that it is true. The show chronicles his adventures with friends and family, as well as his experiences using mini machines created by George and his musical father. The series premiered on September 30, 2000, on *PBS Kids* as part of the *Bookworm Bunch* block. The *Bookworm Bunch* was discontinued in 2004, but *George Shrinks* received a standalone debut on January 6, 2003, alongside *The Berenstain Bears* and *Seven Little Monsters*. The first season consisted of forty episodes, aimed at children five years old and under. The final episode aired in mid-2004, though the show remains in syndication. The original book features a younger boy who wakes up to find himself tiny, goes on adventures including an encounter with a cat, flying a miniature plane, sailing in an ocean-sized tub, eating gigantic food, and riding on top of his giant-sized toddler brother before returning to his normal size.
