Gold Rush

Six Oregon residents, struggling financially during the recession, decide to seek their fortune by heading to Alaska to mine for gold. With little experience, they construct their own mining equipment and set off on a journey from Oregon to southeast Alaska in a convoy.

As time runs short to reach their gold, the miners at Porcupine Creek intensify their efforts to rebuild the ghost town. However, their progress is threatened by the area's unwelcoming bear population, which grows increasingly aggressive toward the newcomers.

The crew works urgently to establish a mining operation, but tensions rise when the Oregon families arrive and express doubts about the lack of gold, especially as the master mechanic, Harness, falls seriously ill. The stress leads to a near-confrontation between Dorsey and Todd.

The team tries to process a promising ore sample through the wash plant, but their progress is disrupted by an inspection from the Department of Fish and Game that uncovers a regulatory violation, threatening their water supply. Meanwhile, Todd faces a personal crisis as his daughter's health takes a serious turn.

With 80 days passed and the miners falling behind schedule, the Hoffmans inform the crew at Porcupine Creek that they must recover $10,000 in gold within two days or the families will be forced to return to Oregon. Tensions rise as Dorsey's struggles with the wave table lead to a physical confrontation.

As winter approaches, a specialist in gold recovery arrives to assist the inexperienced team. Todd uncovers a significant issue with the equipment's design and must make extensive changes. Facing financial strain with his credit cards at their limit, he resorts to extreme solutions.

The crew continues to struggle with severe financial difficulties. Veteran miner "Dakota" Fred attempts to improve their situation by dramatically increasing production, but as problems arise, tensions escalate and Harness becomes increasingly vocal about his frustration.

Todd and Jack push their limits by digging deeper in search of bedrock and gold, ignoring potential risks. As the harsh Alaskan winter approaches, they face increasing challenges including floods, cave-ins, and equipment failures.

As winter approaches, the crew struggles to complete their work before the harsh conditions set in. Heavy rain and melting snow cause flooding in the mine, leading to a dangerous collapse around a massive excavator, forcing Jack to take extreme risks.
