*Forward Unto Dawn* is a coming-of-age story set in the twenty-sixth century, following Thomas Lasky, a cadet at a military training academy under attack by the Covenant, an alliance of alien zealots. Lasky is uncertain about his future in the military but feels the pressure to follow in the footsteps of his mother and brother. After being rescued from the attack by the Master Chief and witnessing the death of his romantic interest, Chyler Silva, Lasky is inspired to take initiative and helps the Chief in an effort to save the remaining cadets.
