Vampires exist. Hellsing, an organization funded by the British government, is tasked with concealing this fact and protecting the public from the threat. In addition to its private army, Hellsing employs several key individuals. Alucard, a powerful vampire, has been under Hellsing's control for many years. While he resents serving the Hellsing family, he takes pleasure in his role as the organization's vampire exterminator. Seras, a newly turned vampire and former police officer, is a reluctant but valuable asset to the group. Integra Hellsing, the current leader, is generally effective in her duties, but recent increases in vampire activity have raised concerns. The source of this surge, however, proves to be more disturbing than she could have anticipated.
