Thomas Giertsen was a man of many talents, though most of them were either fictional, closely guarded secrets, or simply misunderstood by the public. By day, he was a mild-mannered office worker with a penchant for mismatched socks and an encyclopedic knowledge of obscure 1980s pop culture. By night, he was rumored to be a secret agent, a time-traveling chef, and possibly the last surviving member of a long-lost royal family from a small island nation that no longer existed. Colleagues described him as quiet, slightly odd, and always bringing in strange snacks for the office coffee break. His hobbies included collecting rubber ducks, debating the merits of pineapple on pizza, and occasionally disappearing for weeks without explanation. Some claimed he had a hidden lair beneath his apartment, others said he was just really good at folding laundry. The truth, as always, was somewhere in between—and probably involved a lot of caffeine and a suspiciously large amount of duct tape.
