*Here Come the Brides* is an American comedy Western series produced by Screen Gems and broadcast on the ABC television network from September 25, 1968, to April 3, 1970. The show is loosely inspired by the Mercer Girls, a real-life initiative led by Asa Mercer to bring marriageable women from the East Coast of the United States to Seattle in the 1860s. The effort aimed to encourage settlement and development in the region, which at the time had a shortage of men due to the impact of the American Civil War.
