Here We Go Again

For the women in the Walker family, the number 16 is seen as cursed rather than sweet, according to Maddy Walker, a single mother. Maddy believes in what she calls the "Walker women's curse," as she was born when her mother Loretta was 16, and she, in turn, gave birth to her daughter, Shante, at the same age. Determined to break the cycle, Maddy resists allowing Shante to follow the same pattern as the teen approaches her 16th birthday. During Shante's sweet 16 party, complications arise when Maddy, who is dating Cedric, reunites with Victor, her high school love and Shante's father, reigniting old feelings that lead to a romantic encounter. The moment of weakness results in Maddy discovering, at age 32, that she is once again pregnant by Victor. As the family navigates the highs and lows of the unexpected pregnancy, they come to realize that starting over may not be as difficult as they had feared.
