A 17-year-old boy, known only as HIM, is caught in the limbo between childhood and adulthood, as well as between the two homes of his divorced parents, both of whom are now remarried with new families. Like most boys his age, he struggles to process his emotions and often "acts out." However, his behavior is also influenced by a deeper issue: his struggle to contain a terrifying supernatural power he inherited from his grandfather. His aging grandmother is the only one who understands this power and urges him to use it only for "good," as she knows that failing to do so could lead to tragedy.
