Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu

April. A young girl stands alone, acting suspiciously in front of the entrance to a middle school... That girl is Hitori Bocchi, a new first year student at the school. And starting today, she's going to become friends with everyone in her class... hopefully!

The protagonist accidentally upsets their new friend, Nako-chan, but is unsure of the reason or how to make amends, leading to a moment of emotional turmoil and a turning point in their friendship.

Bocchi expresses her wish to go home with Honshou-san, and Nako suggests that the first step is to actually invite her.

Bocchi attempts to avoid attention while traveling to school, but her efforts are complicated by an unexpected encounter with a cheerful foreigner.

Aru tries to maintain her image in front of her friend Hanako Yamada after mistakenly bringing an elementary school backpack to high school. The situation worsens the next day when she is forced to wear an elementary school uniform, and she later faces a tennis challenge from Nako, which proves difficult due to her frequent absences from the tennis club.

Bocchi struggles with anxiety over presenting a haiku to her class, while Nako must attend extra math lessons after failing a test. At the same time, Teruyo, still trying to overcome her fear of Nako, mistakenly believes Bocchi is a hidden gang leader.

Bocchi tries to befriend disciplinary committee member Kako Kurai before summer break but is unsuccessful. During the break, she helps Nako learn to swim and later meets Kai at a karaoke event, where he is happy to see her making progress. On the way home, Sotoka expresses a wish to become friends with Bocchi.

Bocchi makes progress in connecting with Kako, but is surprised to learn that Kako refuses to form friendships, believing it weakens independence. As Bocchi assists Kako with classroom duties, Kako explains her reasons, while Sotoka wrestles with her desire to be both Bocchi's friend and apprentice, ultimately choosing to concentrate on her training.

In cooking class, Bocchi is paired with unfamiliar classmates and, with Aru's help, wins them over by making whipped cream for pancakes. Later, she introduces her friends to Kako and invites her to join their group for an outdoor curry-making session. After their successful dish, Kako acknowledges Bocchi's resolve and challenges her to a rivalry.

Strong Bocchi and Sotoka both experience unexpected power boosts, with Sotoka's strength seemingly linked to unusual sources like her shoe and natto. As they embrace their enhanced abilities, they set out to tackle a new challenge together.

Bocchi is happy to have more friends but feels anxious about maintaining those relationships. She worries that if she doesn't stay in touch daily, they might forget her. To stay connected, she considers making a CD debut as a way to keep everyone close.

Bocchi gets her first smartphone and is excited to join her friends in their smartphone tapping group. Before diving in, she follows her friend's suggestion and greets the phone. Things take an unexpected turn when the phone responds and she asks it to be her friend.
