Hyouka

Hotaro Oreki, an energy-conscious high school student, joins the Classic Literature Club at his sister's request to help prevent its closure. Alongside him are his best friend, Satoshi Fukube, and Eru Chitanda, an inquisitive girl with a passion for mysteries.

Eru, frustrated by the club's inactivity, proposes creating an anthology for the school's fall culture festival. As they search for past anthologies, the club uncovers a mystery within the school library.

Eru confides in Oreki over coffee about her reasons for joining the club and requests his assistance with a personal issue, while the club faces a setback in their search for anthologies when they are unable to access the club's former room.

Eru seeks Satoshi and Mayaka's assistance in uncovering the mystery of her uncle's disappearance, leading the club to gather at the Chitanda estate to share their findings and speculate on events from 45 years prior.

Hotaro struggles with the contrast between his monotonous existence and the more vibrant lives of those around him. A phone call from his sister introduces new doubts about his understanding of Sekitani's expulsion.
