Del was a newly assigned therapist in Zamboanga, and Louie, a soldier suffering from PTSD, was her first patient. Del sought confidence in her ability to help and transform people, while Louie longed to believe in life once more. Their relationship quickly developed into a whirlwind romance, and Del was prepared to marry Louie until she discovered the complex web of lies he had woven. He had a girlfriend from his hometown and had gone absent without leave from his military service. Louie had even faked his own death to escape his responsibilities and the trauma of war.
