Sasaki Shinichi watches as his childhood friend, Tanaka Yukino, stands trial in court. Yukino has been sentenced to death for allegedly visiting her ex-boyfriend's apartment, where she caused his wife and child to die in a fire. Shinichi believes in Yukino's innocence and resolves to help her. To do so, he begins meeting with people who knew her, including her sister and former classmates. Based on the novel *Innocent Days* by Kazumasa Hayami.
