Aired January 12, 2004 · 24 min

Synopsis
Inuyasha and his companions take on the mission of purifying a cursed sword presented to them by Akitoki Hojo, an ancestor of the Hojo family in Kagome's time. Meanwhile, in present-day Japan, Kagome discovers that Akitoki has an ancestor also named Kagome, who married him. This revelation raises questions about Kagome's own fate—should she remain in the feudal era and marry Akitoki, or is the connection purely coincidental?
