*Invader Zim* is an American animated television series created by Jhonen Vasquez. It premiered on Nickelodeon on March 30, 2001. The series follows an extraterrestrial named Zim from a planet called Irk, who is on a mission to conquer and destroy Earth. His efforts to subjugate and eliminate the human race are consistently thwarted by a mix of his own incompetence, the erratic behavior of his malfunctioning robot servant GIR, and a young paranormal investigator named Dib, who is among the few people who recognize Zim's true identity.
