Jul i Skomakergata

*Jul i Skomakergata* is a Norwegian television show produced in 1979. It functions as a televised advent calendar, broadcast from December 1 to December 24. The program has been aired multiple times by NRK in Norway and is considered one of the most cherished shows in Norwegian television history. The series centers on Jens Petrus Andersen, a shoe repairer portrayed by Henki Kolstad, and his shop, which becomes a gathering place for friends and townspeople seeking to have their shoes mended before Christmas. Each episode also includes a segment featuring a clip from *Sandmännchen*, a German show that educates children about the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child. In 2006, Norwegian comedian Zahid Ali created an advent calendar show titled *Jul i Tøyengata*, a parody of *Jul i Skomakergata*. This show portrays a multicultural street in Oslo and addresses issues such as racism and cultural conflicts.
